51m - Glenrothes - St Andrews - Glenrothes.
A beautiful day so a trip to St.Andrews was done. Headed out to Lundin links and then onto the A915 back road to St. Andrews but forgot that there was quite a hill to negotiate but the downhill parts made up for the effort going up. After reaching St. Andrews, I cycled along to the West Sands and relaxed for a bit. Phoned Dawn to let her know I was ok. Returned home along the A91 to Cupar but there was a nightmare of a head wind and was only travelling 7mph. Kept going and was so glad to eventually arrive back and collapse on the patio gasping for water. Was totally shattered.

This blog has been created so people can see my progress as I train for the Asthma UK Loch to Loch Cycle Challenge. On the 1st & 2nd of September 2012, I will be cycling 150 miles over 2 days on some of Scotland's most beautiful but hilly roads!

16m - Glenrothes Circular Route.
After my trip to Cupar decided just to do three circuits of Glenrothes, nothing exciting as you can imagine.

29m - Glenrothes - Cupar - Glenrothes.
Bit the bullet and decided to go to Cupar and back. Was a lovely day and made Cupar in what seemed no time at all. On returning home via the deer farm, I noticed that the cars dont really give you much room. In particular a black BMW estate (52 Plate) which seemed to brush by me a bit too close for my liking so a couple of choice hand gestures were made. Made it home and felt really good.
Total Miles = 55

Second time on the bike, bum still hurts but bravely did 14 miles round the Genrothes Circular route.

27.5m - Leven Burnturk Circular.
First time out with the guys from Leslie Bike Shop, turned up and saw what I was up against... guys who look like they have been cycling for quite some time. I thought I was way out of my league, but did it anyway. Mind you, at the first big hill I got into the wrong gear and was ready to turn back, thinking to myself I cant do this but battled on and got some bits of advice from the more experienced riders which was nice.

12m - Glenrothes Town Circular.
First time on my new road bike and I'm sorry I don't remember the saddles being as uncomfortable as this when I was a lad!
